Jimmy Maher published a recent article about this and various other early Star Trek games, and mentions there were 2 versions of this game - both of which are bug-ridden to the point neither version is playable.
Epic disaster. There are several versions of the game, and none of them work as intended, to the point of some being too bugged to be completable. The latter PC release seems to be the least cursed, but even that one is unreliable and steps can't always be reproduced. To make matters worse, it differs from the Apple or C64 versions on several counts. I gave up writing my own walkthrough as some actions worked differently on later playthroughs. Avoid like a drunk Romulan.

Interesting - I've always wondered why these Trek adventures suddenly appeared. Thanks for sharing :)
