thieving magpie is here), EXAMINE NEST, GET GLOVES, GET MAP, READ MAP (it says "Climb down then
go northwest then northwest), DROP MAP, CLIMB DOWN, NW, NW, E, E (side of house), WEAR GLOVES, BREAK
WINDOW (you are inside), EXAMINE PARROT (find gold coins which are a red herring), U (bedroom where
you see a computer), EXAMINE PORTRAIT, D, N (high street), W (XYZ cinema - leave the trunks as they
are another red herring), EXAMINE SEAT, GET TORCH, E, E (W.H. Smiggy's), D (basement), GET MASK
(gas), U, W, N (the foot-pump is a red herring too), N (bank), GET MONEY, S, WEAR GAS MASK, W (into
lift), PRESS BUTTON (you emerge into a hardware shop), GET SPRAY (can of fly spray), GET KEY (the
batteries, water wings and snorkel are all red herrings), D (back to phone box), DROP MASK (gas).
E (electrical store), BUY FLOPPY, GET SPECTRUM, E, S, S, U (back to bedroom), INSERT FLOPPY
("Say BOOZE at the well" flashes up on the monitor), D, UNLOCK DOOR (you are inside the
tool shed - all items here are red herrings), DROP KEY, W, S (beside wishing well), SAY BOOZE (there
is a long rope ladder suspended from the top of the well), D, E, E (you are halted by a recent
rockfall), SWIM POOL (after all they are VEGETARIAN piranha fish!), GET AXE, W, W, W (you have
reached the cave of the damned), EXAMINE STATUE, GET SHOVEL, E (there is no need to enter the twisty
passages to the south, but if you do, exit by going RIGHT), E, E, E, DIG (using shovel - you reveal
an enormous cave and a giant mutated fly guards the entrance to a door), SPRAY FLY (you are face to
face with the evil one), THROW SPECTRUM.
