Walk Through by Dorothy Millard (PC BASIC Version)
Notes:
* The GW BASIC Version contains a bug when you restart the game. It is necessary to reload or you
never arrive at Pirate's Island.
* The Q BASIC Version has some bug fixes, including the reload problem.
Walk Through
(Start in your cabin on board a pirate ship "The Eagle's Nest"), OPEN DRAWER (see a
book and sword), GET BOOK, READ BOOK (Julian the Pirate's book on pirates - you learn about a
Spanish coin - note the latitude and longitude), E (hallway), S, U (mid-deck), S, W, S (ship's
library), READ NOTE, LOOK UNDER JULIUS (in the card catalogue - note the error in longitude), N, E,
N, N (port deck outside captain's quarters), KNOCK (what do you want to knock on?), DOOR
(captain ushers you in and asks you for the longitude to Pirate's Island), 29 (24+5 What is
the latitude?), 45 (you leave), S (mid-deck), CLIMB MAST, GET SHOVEL, D, D, S, W (mess hall), GET
TRAY, S (galley), LOOK (until the captain informs you that you have arrived at Pirate Island and
gives you a bag of silver - otherwise the cook kills you), GET GARLIC, N, E, U (starboard deck).
S (shallow cove on island), N (sandy beach), W, N, W (inland cove), SWIM (to top of bay), D (bottom
of bay), GET BOX, OPEN BOX (find a thief's pick inside), GET PICK, U, E, N, D (rainforest), E
(small path), U (up a tree), GET KEY, D, W, U, E, S, E, E (swamp), N, N, N, E, S, N, W (dark cave
where you hear squeaky noises to the east), E (the bats stay back because of the garlic), DIG (with
what?) SHOVEL (you reveal a grating), UNLOCK GRATING (with what?) PICK (reveals a passage down), D
(secret cave where you see an old pirate's chest), UNLOCK CHEST (with what?), KEY (reveals the
gold Spanish coin of your quest), DROP SHOVEL, GET COIN, U, W (dark cave), W (swamp), S, S, W (sandy
beach), S (shallow cove), S (return to ship where the captain greets you).
CONGRATULATIONS, You found the coin.
Now we will all be rich!
