Before getting to the game hints here are a few Dragon BASIC commands that may be of use when
playing the game.
If you quit or die during the game you will be deposited at the BASIC interpreter command prompt,
typing RUN (then pressing return) will run the program from the beginning so you can restart the
game without needing to reload the game. However in a few cases where you die you can actually
continue the game that you are playing by typing CONT (short for continue), in other words, Mr.
Edwards' programming technique has inadvertently created an oops command!
Hints.
Use the right tool for the material at hand.
Avoid the poisonous mist until you have suitable equipment.
Is there a green space for planting?
That acid is not just perilous to your health.
Take cover from the water hazard.
A small arrow can be just as dangerous as a large one, be careful where you throw it.
Something sharp will deal with the rattle.
A push of a button, a flick of a switch.
How do divers breathe underwater?
Are you pulling the plug?
Go trapdoor.
The grill will offer little resistance.
Time is of the essence.
What attracted you to the school in the first place? If you have nothing to cling to you will have
to go back.
Will a big book cast a spell on a big guy?
You need to pay for the damage - that will do nicely!
(And in the unlikely event that a series of television adverts from the 1980s is too obscure,
excess, sorry, 'Access' is your flexible friend.)
A computer show! Did you bring a ticket?
If assembly language instructions such as branch and jump are too much for you, you can always use
BASIC where TRace ON and TRace OFF may help if you have a problem.
Strong magnetic fields and computers do not usually get along.
It is a pity the car is not a mini.
The barkeep is in a bad mood, is there anything that will brighten his day?
