EXPLOITS IN A WHEELIE-BIN by Scott Denyer Delbert the Hamster Software 1992 This is a good, enjoyable game, as whimsical as most of the other games produced by this software company. There are two glitches (see hints). The game recognizes more than a two-word parser. Despite its low-key nature, several of the puzzles are tricky to solve. Hints: Type HELP for verbs and suggested phrases. You need to get up in the tree. You need an object to get down. But don’t be in a great hurry to leave. Two objects are to be found there. You cannot get past the troll, so you need to find another way. You cannot push the button at the revolving wall. The wall apparently has two sides. PUSH RIGHT. How to get past the priest? Wear something that he may mistake you for a religious figure (yes, this is a stretch here). Here also, don’t be too quick to leave the altar area as there are two objects to find here. Read the descriptions carefully. Use lung power. At the hut, there is a window (which you don’t really know is there- a glitch). Of course, you already have found something to use at the window of the hut, haven’t you? Don’t eat the doughnut. It has jam inside it, red jam. Have you been anywhere where something red usually would be useful? And on what part of your anatomy would it be useful to get the bull to help you up into the tree? You also need for it not to hurt you. Yes, you brought the needed object with you. How to get the jam onto that part of your anatomy? Make the jam come out. And then put it there in the most direct way. There is one red herring – the banana peel. Actually it is not really a red herring, since it is useful, but don’t take it. At the thespians, keep trying. You get a hint if you EXAMINE RICHARD. You can enter the wise woman’s cave if you are hurt. You need to get the bird to help you before you release it. Show it with what you can summon it. Timmy will give you something if you get his rat back for him. Rats like seeds, but you only have one. What can you do to make more? But before you do that, you need to do something to get to see the wise woman. Use the comb as a verb at the beach.
