Museum Mystery Solution by Aran Johnson We start off outside the museum. Drop your keys, notebook and pencil. You don't need them. Examine the gargoyle. It has a huge metal tongue. Examine the tongue. It is hinged, so lift it. The numbers 2202 are etched there. Examine the door. It has no handle or keyhole. Try knocking, that would be the polite thing to do. No reply. Well we could try climbing the ivy. Nope. Okay, examine and search the ivy. Aha - a keypad. Type 2202. Let's go in to the grand hallway. The door slams shut! Let's examine the metal chest - a combination lock and ventilation holes. Something alive in there? Examine the counter; there is a cash register standing on it, so take a look at that too. Press the green button, and the cash register opens. Look inside. Oh, nothing there so we might as well go SW to the library. There is a window, but it's too high up. To the south there's a ladder. Try climbing it - there's a tread (rung) missing. Okay, let's go back north, then SW and S to the office. Open the drawer. It's stuck, more effort is required. So pull it. It opens! Something has fallen out. Look under the desk. You find a snooker ball. Examine the map. You find a piece of paper. Examine the paper. It is a reference number for the island of Korden: 60'N. Look under the map. You find a button. Press it. This deactivates the alarm in the NW section of the library. Examine the desk. There is a cordless phone and a tape recorder. Examine the tape recorder. There is a tape inside, wound to the end. Press rewind. Press play to discover what's been going on. Go N and N again to the high shelves in the northern part of the library. Search the shelves. You find a narrow gold door with a gold keyhole and hinges. Okay, head back S to the centre of the library and search for a book on Korden. As you pick it up, a dark passage is revealed. Read the journal - it shows a witch doctor wearing a three-eyed mask and carrying an urn. Drop it. Go SW and in to the passage. It's dark. Have a feel around to find the light switch. There seems to be nothing in the urn. Reading the sign tells you it is the Sacrificial Urn of Albora. How about the crate? Hmm, the lid is fragile. Search the crate. You see a slight gap. Look behind the crate. Aha an axe! Try opening the crate with the axe. Hmm, the axehead falls off. Get the axehead and the urn. Put the axehead under the lid to break one of the slats to create a gap. Oops, the axehead falls inside. Examine the gap, and remove the straw. Examine the gap again; there is an object at the bottom of the crate. The axehead? Go out, then northeast. NE again and S. Go up to climb the ladder and put the axe handle in the ladder to replace the missing rung. Look at the carved elephant in the southeast section. Lifting the ears reveals the numbers 1 and 5. Go down. Head to the NW section of the library (NW, NW) and go NW through the green door. Examine the fireplace and search the soot. You find something covered in soot. Head south. Examine the poles - three have masks on top, one is empty. Search the vegetation, finding a dagger. Wash the something in the waterfall. It's a small jug. Examine the trees, see a vine. Search the trees, behind one is a series of steps. Climb the steps, examine the branch and cut the vine. Back down, drop the dagger and get the vine. Keep heading south. Examine the rack - there's a snooker cue. Why not have a game? When you do, there's a growl from an animal somewhere in the museum. Drop the snooker cue and search under the snooker table. A hook. Take it. Okay, back to the cave through the dark passage. Put the hook in the crate to get the object. It's not the axehead, it's a tribal mask. Get the mask and drop the hook. Back to the jungle display. Attach the mask to the pole. A door creaks open somewhere in the museum. It's the blue door in the southeast section, so let's go. The Roman display. Examine the murals and the mosaic - there's a piece missing from the mosaic. Examine the vessel and fill the jug with oil. Go NW. What you need to do now is to push the ladder around from room to room, climb it and do some looking around. The carved bear in the northeast section is the only useful one - turning it will earn you a golden key and 5 points. So push the ladder north and go up. Turn the bear. Go down. Head west and put the gold key in the gold keyhole. Oh, the hinges are rusty. Back to the drawing board. No wait, oil the hinges then try again. (Potential bug? Oiling the hinges sometimes doesn't work. If so, examine the hinges first even though it tells you they're rusty) Go north to the Egyptian room. Look at the sarcophagus and its cover. Tie the vine to the hoop. Examine the wall and the ceiling. Thread the vine through the pulley. Pull the vine twice and tie it to the iron ring. A swirling black mist is released... Look inside the sarcophagus - the body of the Professor. Search it and get the tile. S, S, SE, SE to the Roman display. Insert the tile to finish the mosaic. You see Roman numerals XII. Head out of the museum to the grand hallway. The numbers you have seen are 60 from the map, 15 from the elephant's ears and 12 from the mosaic. Turn the dial to 601512 - it is now unlocked. Before you open it, make sure you have the urn and are wearing the mask. Open the chest. The Professor comes back to life. You won! ***************************************************** Displayed on the Classic Adventures Solution Archive: http://solutionarchive.com
